Summer is traditionally the main tourism season in Iceland. However, traveling in the rural areas in winter is quite unique. The typically busy tourist sites, beautified by the conditions of winter, would be literally exclusive to us during this time of year.
I won’t kid you. It can get very cold and the weather can change without much notice. But sometimes you get the best shots in exactly those kind of situations.
The light during the darkest period is limited, but the twilight seems to go on forever. The snow and the frost can transform the landscape into a work of art. Snow blows around and beautiful patterns emerge. It is truly a winter wonderland,brimful of opportunities for wonderful photography.
