Shot on a winter workshop in February 2015 with the Nikon D810 and Zeiss Distagon 21mm lens. The Ziess is an amazing lens and really shines when it comes to shooting Northern Lights since it has great resolving power and micro contrast wide open. It’s also nice to have a manual focus lens, shooting nights scenes like these, that is 100% in focus when set to infinity. It can be tricky to focus with an autofocus lens, since you can go beyond infinity on them and the autofocus system often fails to nail 100% focus is such low light.
