Day tours

Fjallabak Nature Reserve in ash storm. Interior of Iceland. (Christopher Lund/©2011 Christopher Lund)

Have limited time? You don’t have to travel too far to get to some cool locations. I can pick you up at your hotel and we can be out shooting before you know it. That is the beauty about Iceland.

The standard tourist day trips are often focused on certain “classic” spots such as Gullfoss, Geysir and Þingvellir. Going on such trips is fine, but you dont get the time nor the flexibility you need as a photographer.

With me you would be offered new angles on these classics and other locations without the restrictions of group travel. I tailor each tour accourding to the best light, so in summer we typically leave late and stay out late until sunset. We can even pull an all-nighter and stay up until sunrise if you desire 🙂  Shooting during the harsh mid day sun is not good for landscape photography. Being on this schedule also helps us avoid the crowds of course.

In winter the light can be very limited, so the hours are more “normal”. The low angle sun is great for the winter landscapes and the twilight seems endless. If conditions are favourable you can add a northern lights evening/night to the day tour.*

The pricing is simple, there is a single fixed price of US$ 1.000 pr. day
– That includes, guiding, tuition, transport and fuel cost (up to 300km). Meals/drinks are not included.
My Land Rover Defender seats up to four passangers (three are more comfortable though).

*A tour extension for northern lights in the winter or a all-nighter for summer is US$ 350.
